About Me

Dr. Andrew Lesser currently serves as the Director of General and Vocal Music at the Wilbur Watts Intermediate School in Burlington, New Jersey, where he runs a multi-tiered program for students in grades 3-6. Additionally, Dr. Lesser is the Technology and Composition Chair for the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA) and the Principal Clarinetist of the Philadelphia Wind Symphony.

Dr. Lesser received his Bachelors of Music Education and Performance degree at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and his Masters in Music from The University of Maryland. Dr. Lesser completed his doctorate in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University with the dissertation topic “Video Game Technology and Learning in the Music Classroom”.

Dr. Lesser is the recipient of the Theodore Presser Award, the Action Hall of Honors Award, three Target Arts Education Grants, and a nominee for the Grammy Music Educator Award. He resides in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, with his wife Meg and son Daniel.
